Rolaphton Mercure also known as Rome is an actor, writer and a spoken word artist. He was born in Port-au-Prince on September 26th in 1988. Very young he started doing theater with Patrick Joseph, Ralphe Theodore, Pascale Julio and Jean Samuel André. He participated several time as an actor in Quatre Chemins Theater Festival in Haiti. In 2012, he was awarded the Caribbean creative writing prize where he entered a writing residency in Paris. Following the residency, he participated to the festival les Francophonies in Limoges (France) in the play of Marivaux entitled "The game of love and chance ". Rome is fascinated with cinema and plans to pursue a career in film. He will attend Cine Institute in the fall of 2014 and began his training in film directing.
