Born in April 18th 1989, Jean Samuel André also known as Jasmuel Andri is an actor, scriptwriter, writer, playwright, standup comedian and a spoken word artist. He started doing theater at while studying in sociology at the Faculty of Humanities in 2008. In 2010, he joined the drama company THEATRON led by Patrick Joseph. That same year, he began working as a writer and actor in forum theater at Haiti en scène. In 2011, he wrote his first musical comedy City of lights. Jasmuel is the founder of Collectif Hors Jeu, a spoken word collective aiming to preserve the cultural folkore of Haiti. Jasmuel participated in the TV series entitled Judge me right and lent his voice to radio dramas and puppet films. However, his main activity remains writing. He is the writer of the play Lousy desire, desire lousy and It's moving, I'm 20, a short story tinted with dark humor. In 2013, he represented Haiti at the Just for laughs festival in Montreal at the Maisonneuve Theatre. Since his return, he works as a writer on comedy shows organized in Port-au-Prince. In 2014, Jasmuel wrote in collaboration with Gilbert Mirambeau Jr. and Bruno Mourral his first feature film entitled KIDNAPPING INC. This dark comedy is a feature film to be directed by Bruno Mourral in which he plays a major role. Jasmuel continues its journey as writer and in the fall of 2014 will began his training in creative writing, concentrated on humor at the National School of humor in Quebec.
